Prof. Dr. Hab. Andrzej Babuchowski, President of the Dairy Industry Innovation Institute, participated in the "Nutrigenomics for Lifelong Health" conference on September 3–4, 2026, held under the WELCOME2 project. The conference concurrently marked the conclusion of the WELCOME2 project on the application of multi-omics technologies in life sciences, particularly nutrigenomics, to investigate the impact of food and nutritional compounds on gene expression in humans and animals, and how genetic variations influence the development of diet-related diseases. The research integrates InLife research pathways in food biology and reproduction, further accelerating omics-based research to optimize health and well-being. Project governance was supported by an Advisory Board, of which Prof. Dr. Hab. Andrzej Babuchowski, President of the Dairy Industry Innovation Institute in Mrągowo, was a member. Taking advantage of the occasion, Prof. Andrzej Babuchowski exchanged views with Dr. Peter van Bladeren, member of the Board of Directors of Mérieux NutriSciences, Switzerland—an acclaimed Dutch-Swiss scientist, toxicologist, and expert in organic chemistry and food innovation, former Global Head of Science and Research at Nestlé, overseeing its international research centers. The discussion focused on development pathways for research-and-implementation institutes of this profile and opportunities for integrating them into broader collaborative networks.
